Stand Up For Seaton (SU4S)

Community Action for Seaton's Regeneration Area, 80% owned by Tesco - a floodplain on a World Heritage site bordered by nature reserves, tidal river, the sea and the unspoilt town. SU4S is a state of mind - no members, no structure, no politics. SU4S has objected to 2 planning applications by Tesco, including one for a massive superstore/dot com distribution centre which led to the recent closure on the site of 400 tourist beds with the loss of 150 jobs,a gym and pool - all used by locals.

Seaton Sports Centre

Seaton Sports Centre

Er….. we haven’t actually got one. Or a community centre, or a youth centre, or a public swimming pool, or a leisure centre.
Still times are hard, other places in East Devon are probably similar to us.
No wait, Sidmouth, Axminster, Exmouth and Honiton all have swimming pools.

I bet those facilities are extra to the standard cricket/football/tennis club provision too. This would mean that "leisure east devon" has zero provision for fitness in Seaton.

So the kids in Seaton, being cajoled into getting plenty of exercise by the govt et al...have the streets to keep fit in.

Can't see this problem going away without some serious facility investment EDDC.

we can't have that lot, there'd be no room for the houses and the super(!) store.

how wonderful it all would be if we could have such facilities! Even better if instead of houses!!
How we expect our young people to keep out of trouble with no facilities beats me!
